StarShip supports write-back to custom and other fields in the Fishbowl Client. StarShip can access any custom (user defined) fields associated with the Shipment. Custom fields must be mapped to StarShip fields in order for write-back to occur.
Some of the Fishbowl fields are mapped by default; other fields can be mapped to write back to Fishbowl as desired.
Fishbowl Online Custom Fields
To set up custom fields in Fishbowl Online, go to Sales > Shipping and click the menu button. Select Custom Fields from the menu.
Press the Add Field button and define the custom field(s).
Once you set up your custom fields, you will be able to map them in StarShip, either for custom write-back or to StarShip User Definable fields for import.
To access Custom Write-Back Setup, select Setup > Source Interfaces > Fishbowl Online, and under Interfaces, select the Customize Interface button for Shipments. Then select the Custom Write-Back Setup heading.
Shipment Custom Fields
Any custom fields defined for the Shipment in Fishbowl can be mapped here. Select the StarShip field from which write-back will occur. Mapped fields will write back to the Custom tab on the Ship Details screen.
To update the Carrier on the Fishbowl Ship Details screen after processing a shipment, map this field to the StarShip Ship Carrier Name field and set up value translations.
To update the Carrier Service field on the Fishbowl Ship Details screen after processing a shipment, map this field to the StarShip Ship Carrier Service field and set up value translations.
If you want to update the Date Shipped on the Fishbowl Ship Details screen after processing a shipment, map this field to the StarShip Ready Date field.
The Package Height, Length, Weight, and Width fields are mapped to the corresponding StarShip Package fields by default.
Only the Package Declared Value field is not mapped by default. Depending upon your needs, you can map it to the StarShip field of your choice. Write-back will occur to the Declared Value field in the Carton Details when a package is selected from the Carton grid on the General tab of the Ship Details screen.
