Fishbowl Online Settings for Sales Orders

StarShip supports writing freight and tracking information (notes) directly to Sales Orders. To set up how and what gets written back to Fishbowl Online, configure the write-back and notes settings found in Fishbowl Setup. To access Settings, select Setup > Source Interfaces > Fishbowl Online, and under Interfaces, select the Customize Interface button for Sales Orders.

Write-Back Settings

Write-Back Settings define when freight should be written back to Fishbowl Online when a Sales Order is processed or voided in StarShip.

  • If StarShip is set to not update the Sales Order Status, freight will write back to the Items on the Sales Order in a new Miscellaneous Sale row named “StarShip Freight”.
  • If StarShip is set to creating a Fishbowl Online Shipment and setting a status, Freight will write back to the Items in the Cost field for each Carton on the General tab of the Ship Details screen.
When a shipment is processed or voided in StarShip
  • Always write freight to the Sales Order: When you save or void a Sales Order in StarShip, the freight amount is automatically written back to the document.
  • Prompt shipper to write freight to the Sales Order: When you save a shipment in StarShip, the shipper receives a prompt asking if freight should be written back to the document.
  • Do not write freight back to the Sales Order: Freight is not written back to Fishbowl Online.
When a shipment is processed in StarShip against a Fishbowl Sales Order

This setting defines how the Fishbowl Sales Order is treated when the corresponding StarShip shipment is Ship/Processed:

  • Do not change the Sales Order status
  • Create a Fishbowl Shipment and set status to “Entered”
  • Create a Fishbowl Shipment and set status to “Packed”
  • Create a Fishbowl Shipment and set status to “Shipped”

Write-Back Settings

Notes Settings

The Notes Settings contain default shipment detail that writes back to Fishbowl Online for Freight and Parcel shipments. Notes are written back to the Notes memo field on the Details tab of the Sales Order screen. If a shipment is voided in StarShip, the notes will be removed.

The Note Tag is the printed title; the information from the StarShip field on the right will appear next to the Tag words in Fishbowl. You can change the fields that write back by changing the Note Field, or click the “+” (Add Note Setting) to add more fields.

Freight Notes

Check the check box that says “Write the information below to the Fishbowl Sales Order when a Freight shipment is processed in StarShip” to enable Notes write-back for Freight shipments.

These are the default fields that write back to Fishbowl Online for Freight shipments.

Check the check box that says “Write the information below to the Sales Order when a Parcel shipment is processed in StarShip” to enable Notes write-back for Parcel shipments.
