This document covers setting up and configuring WARD carrier services within StarShip.

 Access Carrier Interface

To navigate within StarShip to access the WARD carrier setup, do the following:

    1. Go to the StarShip web client and then sign in.
    2. Navigate to the Setup > Carrier Interface > Ward.

Create a New Account

To add a new WARD account profile in StarShip, do the following:

    1.  On the StarShip WARD home page, click the ACCOUNTS tab.
    2. Click the NEW ACCOUNT button at the lower-right corner.

Enter Account Information

To specify your WARD login details and account credentials, do the following:

    1. In the Account Name field, enter a name that identifies the account in StarShip.
    2. Enter your assigned WARD account number in the Account Number field.
    3. Enter your WARD website username in the User Name field.
    4. Enter your WARD website password in the Password field.
    5. Click the Next button.

Configure Address Information

To enter the registered address associated with the WARD account, do the following:

    1. Enter the Address associated with your WARD account number in the relevant fields.
    2. Click the NEXT button.

Set up Billing Configuration

To configure the billing preferences in StarShip by selecting the following options:

    • Tendering Type: The choices are Call, Electronic, or Daily Pickup. StarShip will only send a pickup request to A. Duie Pyle when Electronic is selected. For the Call or Daily Pickup options, you must contact the carrier directly.
    • Enable Prepaid: Check to enable a default Prepaid Billing Type.
    • Default Prepaid Billing Type: This is the default Billing Type for shipments that are paid for by the shipper. You can select from Sender or any other 3PL that you set up in Maintain > 3PL. These settings affect the options available for Billing in the Transportation section of the Shipment Editor.

 

Bill of Lading (BOL) Generation

WARD does not support API BOL generation and provides manual steps for creating a BOL in StarShip. To generate BOLs, do the following:

    1. Navigate to Printing Profiles in StarShip.
    2. Select the Straight BOL.

Shipment Cancellation

WARD does not support API void functionality and explains how to cancel shipments by contacting WARD directly:

    • Contact WARD directly.
    • The system displays a modified message after deleting shipments in StarShip.

 

Tracking Status Definitions

WARD uses the following tracking statuses, which StarShip translates as shown:
