You can create StarShip shipments by using the Sage 100 pick and pack capabilities within the Shipping Data Entry.
Process a Shipment
This section offers guidance for manually handling shipments within Sage 100 Link for StarShip.
- In StarShip, click the Rate/Ship menu item.
- In Sage 100, open the Shipping Data Entry screen from the Sales Order menu.
- Choose the order you wish to ship. Click either the Quick Ship button on the Lines tab or the StarShip button on the Shipping tab.
- In StarShip, the shipment document will load automatically.
- In the Transportation section, select or verify the shipping method as Carrier and Service. You can also use Rate Shop to choose a carrier and service.
- Pack line items (if not packed) and enter the weight of the first box or use an electronic scale to read the weight in the Packaging section. Click Next to move to the next package and repeat the weighing process.
- Enter or choose any Shipment Details, including Shipment Options and any additional shipment information that hasn’t been automatically filled in.
- To determine the shipping cost with the currently selected carrier, click on Rate from the menu or use the shortcut Ctrl + Alt + R. If you want to compare rates from different carriers, select Rate Shop from the menu or use Ctrl + Alt + S, and then choose a carrier from the Rate Quotes section.
- Click Ship/Process or save the shipment.
-
- Save: To save the shipment without processing it, choose “Shipment” > “Save” or use Ctrl + S. This action saves the shipment as a draft without completing the shipment process, requesting carrier pickup, automatically printing shipping documentation, or updating Sage 100. The shipment is saved as a draft for future modifications.
- Ship/Process: To complete the shipment process, select “Shipment” > “Ship/Process” or press F3. The shipment is handed over to the carrier. If you’ve configured automatic printing of bills of lading and labels, they will be generated. StarShip also performs write-back of Freight and Notes in Sage 100. Once a shipment is processed, the Shipment Status changes from “Open” to “Processed” on the Shipment tab, and you can modify the status as needed.
