Ship a NetSuite Item Fulfillment

StarShip allows you to import and ship against packed NetSuite Item Fulfillments.

If enabled, the Packing Assistant appears when you ship. Enable it in Setup > Preferences > Freight > Packing Assistant or Setup > Preferences > Parcel > Packing Assistant.

Before you load StarShip

  1. Open the sales order in NetSuite and fulfill what is shipping.
  2. Pack the Item Fulfillment in NetSuite until Status is Packed.
  3. Confirm Shipping Method (and Freight Account Number if the shipment is collect) on the Sales Order Shipping tab.

Process a shipment

  1. In StarShip, go to Rate/Ship. The NetSuite source page opens for the selected company.
  2. If you have more than one NetSuite company, select the correct company in the company list (left).
  3. Stay on ITEM FULFILLMENT.
  4. Type the Item Fulfillment number and click Load. Or set a Date filter and click Load to list Packed fulfillments in that range. Reset Filters clears the search.
  5. Click the fulfillment (magnifier or truck icon) to create the shipment.

StarShip NetSuite Item Fulfillment source page: company, Item Fulfillment number, and Load

  1. StarShip verifies the address and fills recipient / ship-to, shipping method, freight account number when the order is collect, line items, and declared value when you mapped Sales Order Total or line unit value.
  2. Enter packaging in StarShip (box and weight).
  3. Rate or Rate Shop if needed.
  4. Save or Ship/Process.
  • Save stores a draft in StarShip. Write-back to NetSuite does not occur.
  • Ship/Process (F3) tenders the shipment to the carrier, prints labels if configured, and writes tracking, freight, and Shipped status back to NetSuite.

Once processed, the shipment status in StarShip changes from Open to Processed. In NetSuite, the Item Fulfillment status becomes Shipped and package tracking numbers appear on the Packages tab. See NetSuite Write-Back.
