Sage 500 Shipping Setup

You can configure the following Sage 500 setup options in order to simplify the shipping process in StarShip:

Carton Types

Carton types can be set up from Common Information > Maintenance > CI Setup > Setup Cartons.

Ship Via

Shipping methods are set up from Common Information > Maintenance > CI Setup > Setup Shipping Methods.

Sales Tax Class

While setting up your shipping methods, you can also define tax classes for each method.

Transfer Orders

To facilitate easy Transfer Order shipping with StarShip, perform the following setup in Sage 500 ERP.

1. In Inventory Management > Maintenance > IM Setup > Setup Warehouses, the Transfers business rule of “Automatic Approval” should be set to “Always.”
2. Define this transfer order item in both warehouses.
   

 

Write-Back Setup

When entering Sales Orders, the Freight Method must be set to Packaging in order for freight to write back to Sage 500 ERP. Set this option in Enter Sales Orders or Quotes > More >> Header.
