This section is intended for users who have the MS Dynamics GP Advanced option registered in StarShip. The GP Advanced option extends the standard Microsoft Dynamics GP interface for StarShip, providing an interface to warehouse management and EDI solutions for a complete end-to-end order fulfillment system. It can also be used to extract detailed package rate and tracking information (with or without package content detail) to other systems such as shipment cost reporting and customer notifications.
Even without a warehouse management system, the GP Advanced option can be used to write packing information to the shipment packing tables. This is useful for linking to an EDI ASN solution or other third-party application. When shipping against Sales Transactions (Sales Trx), shippers can update the shipment packing tables when they process a shipment.
The GP Advanced interface includes a new document type, Packed Sales Trx, in addition to the Sales Trx and Customer types. It is used when working with a warehouse management system (WMS) to populate the shipment packing tables. The tables populated by the WMS specify the Sales Trx line item quantities and how they are packed into containers. When using a Packed Sales Trx to ship against, the shipper can enter a License Plate Number or the Sales Trx Number, based on the ERP interface setup in StarShip. For more information, see Additional Options.
