This setup procedure covers how to access and install the StarShip Extension, which is required to integrate StarShip with your Dynamics 365 BC instance.
Dynamics 365 Permissions
The user who installs the StarShip Extension must have the D365 EXTENSION MGT User Group added to the Dynamics 365 user permissions.
To use the StarShip Extension, the user must have the STARSHIP FOR DYNAMIC Permission Set added to the Dynamics 365 User Permissions Sets.
Access the .APP File
The .APP file is the StarShip Extension file you will need to install in Dynamics 365 BC. Follow the instructions for your version of StarShip, either StarShip Online (Cloud) or StarShip Web (On-Prem).
For StarShip Online
Dynamics 365 BC (On-Premises) Users
You can download the StarShip Extension file from your account in the StarShip Subscription Management System (SMS). The login page for the StarShip SMS is located at: “http://{company}.subscription.starship.online” where {company} is replaced by your company code; you can also use the link that was sent in your welcome email when you signed up.
- Log in to the StarShip SMS and click Downloads on the side menu.
- Click the Dynamics 365 BC heading and select the V-Technologies, LLC_StarShip for Dynamics 365 BC_ (version).app download link.
Dynamics 365 BC (Cloud) Users
Download the StarShip Integrated Shipping app from the Microsoft App marketplace.
For StarShip Web (On-Prem)
Dynamics 365 BC (On-Premises) Users
The StarShip Extension file is located on the local drive. Navigate to the following folder and select the .APP when required during the StarShip Extension installation:
C:\Program Files (x86)\VTechnologies\StarShip\Client\Dynamics365BC
Dynamics 365 BC (Cloud) Users
Download the StarShip Integrated Shipping app from the Microsoft App marketplace.
Install the StarShip Extension
- Log in to Dynamics 365 BC and select the Setup & Extensions menu item.
- Select Extensions from the secondary menu.
- Click Manage and select Upload Extension.
- On the Upload and Deploy Extension dialog, browse to and select the StarShip Extension .app file.
- Toggle the Disclaimer Accept button and click Deploy.
