StarShip supports writing freight and tracking information (notes) directly to Developer Interface documents. To set up how and what gets written back, configure the write-back and notes settings found in Developer Interface Setup. To access Settings, select Setup > Source Interfaces > Developer Interface, and under Interfaces, select the Customize Interface button for the document. There is no write-back when shipping against Customers.
The integrated application may not implement these settings. The developer of your application must have put into place the flags and notes sent back that are triggered by these settings.
When a shipment is processed or voided in StarShip
Define when freight should be written back to the Developer Interface document when a shipment is processed or voided in StarShip. You can choose from these options:
- Always write freight to (source document): When you save or void a shipment in StarShip, the freight amount is written back to your source document. This is the default setting.
- Prompt shipper to write freight to (source document): When you save or void a shipment in StarShip, the shipper receives a prompt asking if freight should be written back to the source document.
- Do not write freight back to the (source document): No write-back will occur.
Notes Settings
The Notes Settings contain default shipment detail that writes back to the Developer Interface document for Freight and Parcel shipments. If a shipment is voided, notes will be removed from the document.
The Note Tag is the printed title; the information from the StarShip field on the right will appear next to the Tag words in the Developer Interface document. You can change the fields that write back by changing the Note Field, or click the “+” (Add Note Setting) to add more fields.
Freight Notes
Check the check box that says “Write the information below to the (document) when a Freight shipment is processed in StarShip” to enable Notes write-back for Freight shipments.
