When you log in, StarShip will check the installed version of the V-TECH Endpoint to ensure that the installed version is compatible with the version of StarShip you are using. Below are examples of error messages you may receive if there is a problem with the V-TECH Endpoint.
Error Messages
Incorrect Customization Version
“Failed to connect to source.
StarShip cannot connect to Acumatica. Error: The VTechEndPointV42018R10001 customization project published in your Acumatica instance is not compatible with Acumatica 2021 R1. Please install the latest version of the VTechEndPoint customization project for Acumatica 2021 R1.“
If you get an error message like this, it means the published StarShip customization is designed for another version of Acumatica. To fix this issue, unpublish the V-TECH endpoint and then create a new V-TECH endpoint. For more information, see Unpublish the V-TECH Endpoint, and Create the V-TECH Endpoint.
Outdated Customization Version
“Failed to connect to source.
StarShip cannot connect to Acumatica. Error: The VTechEndPointV52021R10005 customization project published in your Acumatica instance is not compatible with the version of StarShip you are running. Please upgrade your VTechEndpoint version to version 0006 or higher.“
When you see this error message, it means that the published StarShip customization is an older version and not compatible with your StarShip version. You will need to unpublish the V-TECH endpoint and then create a new V-TECH endpoint. For more information, see Unpublish the V-TECH Endpoint, and Create the V-TECH Endpoint.
No Customization Published
“Failed to connect to source.
StarShip cannot connect to Acumatica. Error: The VTechEndPoint customization project has not been published.“
In this case, the V-TECH endpoint has not been published. Follow the instructions to Create the V-TECH Endpoint (for your StarShip platform, either StarShip Web or StarShip Online).
